​Noordereiland is a study for the possibilities to develop a residential island in the new housing area of Almere. Focus of the project is to develop a different urban design proposal than elsewhere in the town. The proposal is to make an island with a high dune, a small forest, different shores on each side and only one main street for cars, while a walking path makes going for a walk around the island possible. Apartment buildings and a restaurant are proposed at the end of the island, overviewing the water. Housing is located at random over the island.
